Introduction
The subject of Assamese has been offered as a compulsory MIL (Modern Indian Language) subject since the very inception of the College i.e., in 1995. The affiliating University initially accorded permission to introduce Assamese as a General subject. Subsequently, in the accademic session 2004-05, permission was granted to offer Assamese as a Major subject, as per the vide Order no.DU/RG/DCDC/Aff./2001-2002/1101-05, Dated:23/07/2002 w.e.f. 2002-2003.
